HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY – A Plant City man died Thursday (Aug. 31) in a Hillsborough County traffic crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Joshua Perez, 30, died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.

The crash happened about 2:11 p.m. on Causeway Boulevard west of S 54th Street. Mr. Perez was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle east on Causeway at a high rate of speed, troopers said. Edward Allen Gonzalez, 59, of Wesley Chapel, was driving a 2017 Ford F150 west on Causeway.

Gonzalez turned left onto S 54th and into the path of the Honda, troopers said. The Honda hit the right rear side of the Ford.
